Drive the tech, Help the customer, Impress your friends
Measurement, automation, control, system design & development have dominated my career and passion for decades. Positions of USN Electronics Tech, numerous Software and System Development Engineering jobs, and their invasion into my personal projects have served well in becoming the Automation "go to" guy within the SBD organization. My main focus and skill has been test system hardware and software development. My expertise covers software, electrical/electronic, mechanical engineering and auto repair that support the demands of system development and some personal projects that include CNC Mill conversion, Robotic Zero-turn mower, and drag racing. My current organization has me focusing on RF test system technology. Maker style solutions have also served to solve small but necessary custom automation needs and are creative alternatives for otherwise pricey equipment and helped to avoid negotiations for big dollar overkill solutions.
I prefer an environment that takes advantage of the team dynamic and is nurturing to learning and recognizes that this work can be challenging and fun! ...and pay the bills.
The engineering team dynamic is exciting when working together to solve tough problems. Nothing like a challenge to build character. This is when everyone grows the most, feels the greatest job satisfaction, and sum to greater than their parts. Delivering a cool solution to a happy customer equals satisfaction for everyone.
I must pay homage to CACI International, the US Navy, Stanley Black and Decker, Lockheed Martin and Mink Hollow Systems, and all the smart people that I have worked with over the years. It has been a grand learning process and experience in analog, digital, RF & RADAR electronics troubleshooting/design/repair, brush-less motor function and electronics, embedded system design and development, switching power supplies, battery physics and chemistry, software development, data acquisition and control, mechanical and electrical engineering, LASER system manufacturing, etc. Please select either the "resume/CV" or "Documents" hot-links above for my latest contact information.
1) Adjunct Instructor at Harford Community College teaching LabVIEW Fundamentals and help to improve the course content, 2) Completion of Java OOP development course, 3) Refresher (MOOC) courses in C/C++ and Python, 4) Refresher studies on RF electronics, stimulus, and measurement techniques and devices, 5) RF test and analysis application development via my current employment.
Until I populate this section with more project content, enjoy some engineering humor.
